I'm surprised it's that high. 35% thinks they've gotten worse. Which shocks me because even I thought that the First Duffer would help defuse racial tensions. But the relentless march of the uberstate grinds everything in its remorseless path. It makes even simple human interaction fraught with political and group identity undertones.
When you make everything subject to the state and its manipulation, you expose all of life to the poisonous zero sum game of politics with all the conflict and hatreds that entails.
