High tech hooking: how the Internet is making it harder and harder to ban prostitution. Or to exploit whores.

Both the church ladies and the pimps fear legalization. The ladies due to moral panic and the fact that they would be terribly put out if they had to put out to keep their husbands on the reservation. The pimps are panicked because absent state prohibition there's no reason for them to exist.

Dealers thrive on underground markets. Above ground they turn into delivery boys. More at the economist link.
