Stephen Carter mocks colleges' idea phobia but gets one very big thing wrong

Almost all of the students who he rightly mocks for their desperate need to avoid being confronted by any contrary opinion came to campus open minded. They became anti-intellectual bigots only through truly hurculean efforts of the perpetually adolescent bigots on the faculty. Without their 'sacrifices' these kids might have turned out to be decent human beings rather than the ignorant, mewling, puling grievance mongers that they've become.
