The brilliant and deceptively simple successes of antibiotics and vaccinations deceived us as to the real complexity of healing and protecting from chronic conditions. Things like heart disease and cancer have many variables including genetics, environment, comorbidities and so on. Magic bullets targeting "high" values turn out to not be as magic as we had hoped. It's all so bloody complicated.
