So what comes after the 'liberal' university?

The Loons are out again.

At Smith College - an all women's school - Christine LaGarde, head of the IMF and one of the most accomplished women in the world was forced to withdraw from being commencement speaker because some students egged on by radical faculty said that she was nasty poo poo or something to that effect.

At Haverford the impeccably liberal Chancellor of Cal Berkeley withdrew because some 'students' and 'faculty' were upset that the Cal police cleared out an obstructive and illegal protest.  And because the Chancellor is a stupidhead who should give them eleventymillion dollars.  Or something like that - raving ranters don't always make sense.

Brandeis ditched the singularly most accomplished Muslim woman in the world:  Ayaan Hirsi Ali because of Islam! Diversity! Oh and specifically because of shrieking students egged on by totalitarian faculty.

Harvard's student newspaper wrote an 'official' editorial applauding the Brandeis decision to 'shut the bitch up'.  This comes hard on the heels of another editorial arguing that Harvard should replace academic freedom with academic 'justice'.  'Justice' being the modern word for shutting down anybody's views but theirs.

And so on and so forth ad infinitum.  Congratulations, liberals, having spent the last several decades eradicating all conservative thought on your campus you now find that you're the conservatives.  And you're blocking the radical agenda.  By looting your charges you have demonstrated that you have no principled commitment to fairness or decency or even honest dealing. To be fair, the students - realizing that you're corrupt beyond measure - are going the only other place that you've allowed them to be taught exists:  loony left land.  And loony left land doesn't like free speech or color blindness or due process or any of that liberal crap.  They want power for the people.

Specifically them.

I am afraid that academic liberalism's disgraceful looting binge is coming to an end.  Time to replace universities with websites and send the shriekers home to Momma.  The buildings can be converted to retirement villages for the liberal faculty and staff who will be bailing in droves if not actively tossed first.
