Some rare good news from DC bipartisan Overcriminalization task force

One of the worst things about the US is our fundamentally unfair and stunningly brutal criminal justice system.  For example at the Federal level mens re - foreknowledge that what you are doing is a crime is often missing.  And with almost 5000 laws and millions of pages of regulations and rulings there is no way to know.  So it's good to know someone is making progress.

In the states it tends to be Republicans who are trying to reign in the criminal justice system, probably because they are less focused on creating new coercive programs than the Dems.  They also tend to be more solvent meaning fewer budget crises to occupy their time.  And of course they aren't Obamacaring which has been a fiasco for anyone that's touched it.

Of course this administration has issued more new rules than any since 'tin soldiers and Nixon's coming'.  But the good news is that maybe we're no longer on our own.
