Activists lie. A lot.

To be an "activist" means your cause is so important that normal rules of discourse don't apply. Rules like honesty, respect for other opinions, telling the whole truth, not just the bits that buttress your position. Social activists are modern day religious fanatics worshipping  themselves as Saviors.  Here's an egregious example relating to alcohol deaths.
