Houston: Semi-sweet land of liberty

My parents live in Houston and I've done business there on and off for years.  I tell friends that Houston is the most astounding city in the most amazing state in the nation.  They are surprised because the 'hip' propaganda dismisses Texas and Houstonian achievements as braggadocio or done at the expense of the 'poor' or 'minorities' or 'quality of life'.  Yet Houston is the highest real income city in the world and astute observers predict that Houston will be to the 21st century what NYC was to the 19th and LA was to the 20th - the global city of North America (but not if Dallas-Fort Worth has anything to say about it).  Whether or not that's the case it is a fascinating if humid place.  World magazine evaluates it from a Christian perspective here.
