How does a Third World Minority Feminist Atheist crusading against an oppressive, misogynistic religion get almost everyone to hate her? Including the feminists?

Ayaan Ali Hirsi is invited to speak at Yale and dozens of groups demand that she be disinvited lest someone's panties get in a bunch over her argument that Muslim men should treat their wives and daughters better by specifically, not mutilating or murdering them.

Yesterday morning, the MSA, along with 35 co-signing student organizations, including the Yale Women’s Center, the Slifka Center (Yale’s hub for Jewish life), the Black Student Alliance, and Yale Students for Israel, sent a campus-wide e-mail that argued that Hirsi Ali’s history of “hate speech” and provocative statements, which include advocating the “defeat” of Islam, ought to disqualify her from speaking at Yale. They felt “disrespected,” they said, by the very act of inviting her; evidently they found her ideas too dangerous and her words too caustic for the virgin ears of their fellow undergraduates.

This is what Yale is afraid to hear? How can Elite campus leftists side with medieval genocidaires against their own values? Could it be that campus leftism is simply power optimization? Could it just all be liberal fascism after all?

I don't understand. I guess i need a clever Ivy leaguer to explain it to me. More at the link.
