I used to be what one would call defense and crime 'hawk' but decades of intensifying cruelty and abuse by both parties at all levels of our glorious state have sickened me and led me to warn my kids that the state and it's various gun and writ toting thugs are a far greater risk to their life an liberty than any criminal or terrorist organization. By and large my friends are coming to the same conclusion. And if you're my friend or want to be, you'd better not work for the oppressors. Because you are rapidly heading for the same social status as slave traders used to have in the south. You don't have to be a government thug.

Government officials may still act against the rebels. But instead of whipping up the public into a shared two minutes hate against a common foe, they're increasingly findingthemseves viewed as the enemy by people who cheer acts of defiance.
