"Banned in Boston" extends to smoking in parks, natch

Boston has always been self righteously Puritanical.  And the whole northern tier of states settled by the descendants of the Puritans exhibit the same moral defect.  They used to be obsessed with coercing moral purity, now they're obsessed with coercing physical health. The key value that Puritans are optimizing isn't purity or health it's supremacy and power and the ability it to demonstrate it by making someone do something they don't want to.  It's the oldest and vilest of sins:  seeking to be God over others.

BTW:  you know that there is no evidence of health effects for second hand smoke, don't you?  Just like there was no evidence that wearing short skirts made one a 'shameless hussy'.
