Energy 'self sufficiency' hit 26 year high of 84.5%

I don't really think of this as a big deal.  Did you know that we are almost totally dependent upon others for our underpants?  Qu'ell horreur!  In fact we've been in better shape than this for a long time because our energy is almost 100% produced by either us or our close Canadian and Mexican allies.  And that's not changing.
