
When I was social chairman of my fraternity my greatest fear at parties was that the boys had a stash of hard liquor because that meant fistfights, out of control driving down the campus sidewalks and a visit from the campus police. The best news: they had a big bag of weed because that meant that they would stay in and giggle at each other. No violence, no cops.
I have never understood our drug laws. And I know the people who enforce them know far less than me.
