Government spending as a share of GDP at peacetime highs

And we are so much better off for it.

Federal government spending this year is estimated to be 25 percent of GDP, the highest percentage since World War II. (Spending at all levels of government this year is estimated to be 41 percent of GDP, again, the highest percentage since World War II.)
