Hey great Idea: double our cost of energy, abandon our technological dominance of oil and gas exploration and production, wreck our economy and the rest of the world still (rationally) uses oil so the price remains high and our enemies have the same amount of money while we are impoverished and no longer dominate the industry that makes them rich making them less subject to our influence.
An analysis you can also bring up would be about legalization of marijuana and other garbage talk that society today mentions, claiming it would lower crime. If a toothless Bozo/Bimbo could not afford a street price of crack, what makes Lawmakers think those very same people would be able to afford a legal sale market price of that same garbage in the first place? The answer is simple really, they resort to stealing, back to basics of square one, perhaps a rise in more criminal activity, thus a complete opposite of their so called good intentions.
