Just a few short years ago we heard from the pompous main stream press that we had hit 'peak oil' - and sotto voce they said natural gas too. Never mind that "Peak Oil" had been shouted in various guises in the 1920s, 1940s, and 1970s always followed by an unexpected production 'boom'. This time the academic mumblers claimed they'd got it 'right'. Well witness our "Energy" Secretary's comments today that it looks like in the past 5 years the US' Natural Gas resources have "doubled". How could this be? And then look slightly further down and you find that our President continues to restrict drilling in the US despite the fact that huge 'elephant' fields are being found throughout the world in geologic formations just like the ones off of our coasts and in our interior.
Don't listen to the academics to preach Luddite technophobia and resource limits. And don't vote for the politicians who listen to them.
