Because by definition fugitives don't have stake in society and rootless men are dangerous. Is there anything our nation's vicious and unprecedented prohibitionism hasn't coarsened and made cruel?
IMHO to support the drug war is objectively evil and anyone who does so should be excluded fro polite society as the thugs they are. This would begin with our 'crusading' prosecutors and policemen.
