Boo! The divided government bogeyman

My good friend and principled liberal (as opposed to the Obami version) Ben Knoll says that he quite likes divided government.  I agree with him to a certain degree.  If we have Left Shift, divided government, Right Shift, then perhaps it's OK.  But if it is Left Shift, gridlock, more left shift than all we have is a left rachet.  That being said there is no doubt that the last era of quasi fiscal sanity in this country came under the fairly stable gridlock of Clinton and Gingrich.  Tom Sowell has more.
